Baird MacGregor depends upon those insurers that are committed to the brokerage system. In most instances, those insurers tend to focus their business development energies on those brokers who provide a significant flow of premium volume and "spread of risk". Equally important to the underwriters is that they receive information in the form of submissions that are well conceived and well documented.

Whether in a "hard" or "soft" market, the basic tenets are the same. If there is to be a stable relationship between the insurer and the insured, the needs of both must be addressed.

Through dialogue with both buyers and sellers in the insurance marketplace, Baird MacGregor has succeeded in retaining and expanding our client base in every year of our operation. We believe that our steady growth reflects the fact that we are doing our job as an intermediary. This is being recognized by insurers and insured’s alike.

The current annual premium volume being managed by Baird MacGregor is in excess of $70,000,000. Not only is this a big responsibility, it is also a major contributing factor to our access to a wide range of traditional and specialist insurance markets including underwriting authorities for several niche classes.

Our portfolio is comprised of domestic business, both local and national in scope, plus international placements. Several accounts generate annual premium income in excess of one million dollars. Some of the key accounts are franchised systems or association programs, where service is geared to meet the needs of the independent entrepreneur. We are equally comfortable dealing in a boardroom environment, or one-on-one with the small business owner.

While Baird MacGregor has developed major strengths in niche markets, there is also a significant range of general commercial and industrial clients for whom risk management and insurance services are provided. Often these individual placements are the seed that leads to the development of new specialties. In such cases we emphasize the risk identification and assessment issues first. We then work creatively with the entrepreneur in developing administrative solutions and funding mechanisms, including insurance - with a broad range of insurers at a price consistent with exposures.
